Hey ladies,
I finally got to the computer. We can begin to study the Word together. Remember the last day of camp when we met together late at night? We talked about knowing what to do in any situation can only happen if you know what the Bible teaches. You all wanted to continue to learn how to study when we got home. That's how our blog was born.
Let's start with a verse from camp:
"For whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it."
1 Peter 3:10
Our first step will always be to pray. We pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. He is the best teacher around.
O.K. ... here is your first assignment. Pray, then try to think of any verses that this verse reminds you of. You don't have to know the address or even the whole verse. Just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of anything you might have learned that goes with this verse. Do all this without opening your Bible! If you can think of anything, just write it on this blog in your own words. If you can't think of anything, write that on this blog also. On Wednesday I will tell you about our next step.

what i have learnd from this verse is that i didnt need to say bad things like it says in the verse keep your lips from deceitful speech. The bible says your tongue is like a sword and it can hurt people so i have learnd from that that i need to use kind words and be kind to my friends
Great job, Abbie. The Holy Spirit reminded you of the verse about the tongue being like a sword. That's what we are looking for.
Anybody else?
Ih...cool, Mom. I like the verse a whole lot! [Maybe I should post it on tiffren.blogspot.com...u won't mind right?] What this verse made me think of: deceitful. That word is pretty muchly one whole half of my personlaity. Yes-I'm saying this where everyone can see it! I seriously am deceitful when it comes 2 the computor, like that time u caught me e-mailing Viri/Liloexp626 when I never asked! So, soka [soka means sorry in Lilo and Stitch language] sorry about being always deceitful with the thing I USED to be trusted with. Dude, that verse was awesome. It made me wonder...
Love u! Aloha as in goodbye! :)
Thank you, Angel624, for being so truthful. The Bible is supposed to be like looking in a mirror and seeing the real you.
that verse made me think about the fact that i am not allways as nice as i could be when it comes to words. it can be hard for me to set an example for the believers. And its really hard to show that i believe in God when i am with my friends that don't believe God exists.
P.S. I love this blog :)!!!
Corrie,
I'm so glad you joined us! You are so right about words being used as an example to believers...and none believers. Even if your friends are not ready to hear about Jesus, you can make a difference just by being careful about the words you use. I'm not just talking about cussing either. What about saying nice, encouraging things when everyone else is being negative?
